Unlimited Rental Mileage
At SDVH, we understand how a mileage cap can restrict your journey. Therefore we offer unlimited mileage on a majority of our cars, allowing you the liberty to roam without boundaries. Please note, this perk does not apply to cars hired for courier services.
No matter if you’re thinking of a short trip in Honor Oak Park or heading out on an extended journey, you can be assured understanding you’re protected, no matter how many miles you drive. We suggest confirming the unlimited mileage feature with our customer service staff when choosing your car.

European Cover Option
Sometimes, traveling through Europe by car is more attractive than flying or using the railway. Hire a car from us and drive in luxury and style across European countries such as France, Spain, Germany, Ireland, Belgium, Portugal and many other EU nations.
Our unlimited mileage applies to cars rented for long journeys within the EU. When booking, notify our agent if you intend to travel outside the UK, as a supplementary cost is required. If you plan to travel past the EU, please also inform our reservation team beforehand.
One Way Vehicle Rental
Not all journeys wrap up in the same place they begin. Occasionally, you might want to drive from point A to B without the plan of heading back just to hand back the rented car. SDVH’s one-way car hire facilitates this. Book a car in a section of the UK and drop it off at your endpoint.
This option makes travel more efficient by doing away with extra rental times. Instead of steering the car all the way back to the initial rental place, save money by dropping it off at a nearby depot or allowing our crew to pick up it at your final location. Please note, our one-way car rental service, exclusively offered on the UK mainland, comes with an extra fee. Be sure to specify your final destination and pickup date during booking.
Insurance Is Included
Despite how careful one is, accidents can occur, resulting in damage to the car or injuries to the people inside. Staying ready for such occurrences is paramount. With SDVH, each car rented includes comprehensive insurance that covers both light damages to the car and all individuals inside.
This insurance coverage is factored in in the car hire fee, ensuring there are no hidden charges. For additional protection, we propose a Collision Damage Waiver, which minimises your financial responsibility for major damage to the car. During the reservation phase, our agents will inform you about the entire cost of the car hire, inclusive of insurance plans.
Company Own Insurance - 10%
We recognise that extra rental car insurance isn’t necessary for all individuals. In case your corporate policy previously covers you, there is no need for us to supply further protection and it is not right to charge every client the same.
Consequently, when you already have insurance, we offer a 10% discount on every car rental, rendering SDVH’s rentals more economical while still providing unlimited mileage. Do inform our team about your existing insurance when booking a car hire to avail this discount.
Wide Range Available
Our extensive vehicle fleet includes people carriers and minibuses for larger groups, versatile trucks for a range of tasks, and both cargo and passenger vans available in Honor Oak Park. What To Do In Honor Oak Park
Tree-lined streets stretch outwards from the hilltops, where the skyline appears and disappears between branches. That’s how Honor Oak Park lingers in your memory—with views that shift, rather than announce themselves. Set in southeast London between Forest Hill and Brockley, it’s well placed for short stays and weekend wanders. The A205 curls along the southern edge, while the A202 isn’t far, giving drivers a simple route into the area.
The weather here runs mild and moody—perfect for green spaces that thrive in spring’s dampness and summer’s soft warmth. It’s the kind of place where autumn paints the treetops and locals still picnic into October. While not heavy on headline events, the community spirit plays out in nature reserves, hillside walks and quirky venues that offer more than they promise. A popular option with those based in New Cross, the area tends to draw in those looking for something slower paced but well connected.
Attractions In Honor Oak Park
The attractions here aren’t curated as a checklist but rather scattered like favourite pages in a well-read book. You might stumble upon a sculpture garden just after a nature reserve or find a live band tucked behind a pub garden.
Blythe Hill Fields
We pulled in near Blythe Hill Lane and made our way up. The climb is brief but the reward is long-lasting—a wide sweep of city skyline that makes the hill feel taller than it is. Locals bring dogs, kids and weekend coffees here and everyone seems to know there’s no better spot to watch the sun ease itself down behind the towers.
It’s open 24 hours, which helps if you’re chasing dawn light or dusk silhouettes. Even in the rain, it doesn’t lose its charm.
Horniman Butterfly House
A short drive from Peckham, the Horniman Butterfly House feels like a detour into a warmer climate. We stepped inside and were immediately met by still air, soft wings and a hum of quiet movement. Tropical plants leaned in from the corners and butterflies flicked past our shoulders as we walked slowly through.
It’s open every day from 10:30 am to 4 pm and you don’t need long—but you’ll probably want to stay longer than you think.
Devonshire Road Nature Reserve
It’s easy to miss the narrow entrance along Devonshire Road—we nearly did. But inside, the reserve opens up into a mix of boardwalks, tall grass and pond life. There’s a scruffy charm to the place, with signs made by hand and a pond lined with well-worn benches.
Open Sundays only, from 9 am to 5 pm, it doesn’t try to compete with bigger parks. That’s what makes it so likeable.
Dawson’s Hill
In East Dulwich, we climbed Dawson’s Hill and reached one of the most underappreciated views in southeast London. The route is short and steady, with wild grasses giving the open space a slightly untamed feel. There’s no signage or café here—just a slope, a view and the occasional dog walker.
The park is open daily from 7 am to 9 pm. We recommend a visit in the late afternoon, when the sun cuts across the hill and the city skyline glows faintly in the distance.
One Tree Hill Park
We entered One Tree Hill Park from Honor Oak Rise and headed straight for the trees. The incline is gentle but steady, with the occasional clearing offering hints of what lies ahead. At the top, the view opens out completely—London sprawled in layers beneath your feet, framed by branches.
This spot draws a lot of interest from people in Lee, who enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and uninterrupted city views.
Dacres Wood Nature Reserve
Dacres Wood doesn’t boast or bustle. Behind Honeyfield Mews, we found raised walkways curving around quiet ponds, with signage that invites you to linger and learn. On our visit, volunteers were prepping for a local school group and the atmosphere felt thoughtful, rather than instructive.
Locals from Lewisham often come here with kids—or just to decompress. It’s quiet in the best way.
Dulwich Picture Gallery
We nearly missed the entrance, tucked behind a long hedge near College Road. Inside, the Dulwich Picture Gallery is all light and proportion—Sir John Soane’s architecture somehow manages to feel both formal and friendly. We wandered past Gainsboroughs and Rembrandts, pausing longer than expected in the skylit main hall. It’s open Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 am to 5 pm. On our midweek visit, the hush was genuine.
Peckham Rye Park & Common
Approaching from Catford, this was an easy first stop. The park is big enough to get lost in—and we nearly did. Formal gardens shift into woodland, then open onto wide flat fields where joggers, picnickers and footballers coexist.
We parked along Straker’s Road and wandered for over an hour without retracing our steps. It’s open from 7:30 am to 5 pm and good for clearing your head.
Fox & Firkin
Driving up Lewisham High Street from Brockley, we stumbled across Fox & Firkin just as the doors opened for soundcheck. The venue spills into its own backyard, where murals meet fairy lights and the stage hosts everything from reggae to spoken word. It stays open late—3 am on weekends—and the crowd shifts with the music. We stayed longer than planned. That felt right.
Horniman Sound Garden
You’ll hear the clink of percussion before you spot the instruments. Behind the main Horniman complex, the Sound Garden is a fenced outdoor area with steel drums, wooden xylophones and tuned chimes you can actually play. Kids love it, obviously—but so did we.
No one rushes you here. You play something, hear the echo and move on. It’s the kind of stop that leaves a bigger impression than you’d expect.
A Grounded Place To Pause
Honor Oak Park doesn’t put on a show but it gives you the space to appreciate the everyday. On the main parade, Mamma Dough offers sourdough pizzas that hold up to the hype—crisp, generous and unfussy. A few doors away, Grounds & Grapes shifts from laid-back brunch café to wine bar as the sun sets, making it a handy all-day option.
There aren’t many hotels in the immediate area but homestays and guesthouses like Honor Oak Rooms keep things simple and central. If you’re heading over to Forest Hill, The Dartmouth Arms is a good bet for comfort food, local beer and a warm corner table.
