One Way Vehicle Rental
Travels don’t always finish at the origin. Sometimes you might require to travel from A to B without planning to return to return the rented vehicle. With SDVH’s one-way car hire, you can do this. Secure a car in a particular UK location and return it at your final location.
This arrangement enhances travel by eliminating extended rental time. Instead of driving the car back to the initial rental point, reduce costs by returning it to a neighbouring depot or letting our crew pick it up from your destination. Remember that this one-way rental is solely available on UK mainland and includes an extra charge. Always to specify your final location and collection date when booking.
Insurance Is Included
Incidents can happen unexpectedly, no matter how prudent we are. These occurrences may result in damage to the car and injuries to riders, making it important to be covered. Each car acquired from SDVH provides comprehensive insurance, covering minor car damages and all occupants travelling inside.
Our basic insurance is incorporated in the car hire charge, guaranteeing no additional charges.
Additionally, we present a Collision Damage Waiver for enhanced protection, reducing your liability for substantial vehicle damages. Our staff will advise you of the complete car hire cost, outlining insurance choices, when you book your rental.
Company Own Insurance - 10%
We realise that comprehensive rental car insurance isn’t required by every client. If you’re insured through your company’s policy, there’s no need to provide extra protection and we don’t feel it’s fair to charge you equally as customers without insurance. Should you own insurance, we offer a 10% discount on every car booking.
This lets you experience SDVH’s car rentals at reduced costs and still receiving unlimited mileage. Do notify our staff about your current insurance when placing a booking.

What To Do In Crouch End
You’ll know you’re close to Crouch End when the air sharpens with the smell of fresh coffee and the chatter of market shoppers filters through the trees. While driving in from Hornsey, the shift is subtle—broad leafy streets giving way to clusters of bookshops, bakeries and pubs with weathered signs. The A103, weaving up through the town, makes it an easy detour whether you’re coming off the M1 or slipping across from inner London.
Crouch End, with it’s 12 thousand residents, feels like a place built for gentle wandering. Spring throws blossom across the parks, while autumn brings crisp mornings and the smell of woodsmoke hanging low over Middle Lane. If you’re planning a trip, late spring through early autumn is the most inviting time, when weekend markets hum and the outdoor cafés spill onto the pavements. During our drive back from Turnpike Lane, we couldn’t resist swinging back for one more stroll past the old clock tower, soaking up the last light of the day. Best advice? Pack for walking—good shoes, a light raincoat if clouds are looming and maybe a tote bag to carry home finds from local shops.
Attractions In Crouch End
We set off with a list but Crouch End had other ideas. A turn down an unexpected alley, a detour through a sun-dappled park, a quick coffee stop that somehow stretched into an hour—before we knew it, the day had slipped away without us ever sticking to the plan.
Parkland Walk
There’s a moment, just past Florence Road, where Parkland Walk feels more forest than city. We slipped into its green hush without meaning to, following the old railway path under mossy bridges and graffiti-splashed arches.
Tip: It’s worth wearing decent walking shoes—the path can get muddy after rain, especially near the old bridges.
Open 24 hours, it’s part urban trail, part daydream—the sort of place where you start walking and lose track of the afternoon. Sometimes you’ll spot a jogger flashing past or a painter tucked quietly into a clearing but mostly it’s just you, the trees and the rustle of hidden things.
Site Of Former Crouch End Railway Station
At first glance, you might miss it. Half-buried in ivy, the former Crouch End Station blends into the Parkland Walk like a ghost of itself.
We paused here coming in from Harringay, sharing the bench with a few other wanderers, all of us wrapped in the strange quiet that hangs over abandoned places.
Fairland Park
Small but lively, Fairland Park just off Fairfax Road hums with life. Toddlers race for the swings, teenagers crowd the football pitch and the odd jogger loops the perimeter path, earbuds in. Open 24 hours, it’s the kind of space that doesn’t demand much from you—just a quick breath of fresh air before the day carries on.
Priory Park
We nearly missed the café. Hidden among trees near the tennis courts, it dishes out bacon rolls and flat whites that smell far too tempting to ignore. Priory Park itself feels stitched together: a formal garden here, a scrappy meadow there, playground noise bleeding happily across both. Tip: If you’re visiting in summer, the splash pool for kids fills up fast—earlier mornings are best for a quieter visit. You’ll find your own corner easily enough.
Crouch End Clock Tower
Every town needs a meeting place. In Crouch End, it’s the Clock Tower—a proud slice of Victorian brickwork that has watched over the Broadway since 1895.
The bells cut through the background hum of buses and market chatter, marking time in a town that doesn’t rush much anyway.
Crouch End Playing Fields
Rolling out behind Park Road, the Playing Fields are anything but polished. We wandered in from Muswell Hill and found Sunday football matches in full swing—all shouted encouragement, flying tackles and kids chasing stray balls into the hedgerows. Tip: Parking nearby can be tricky on weekends; it’s often easier to walk in if you’re already parked up in town. It’s messy, lively and unmistakably local.
Waterlow Park
You don’t stumble into Waterlow Park; you arrive on purpose. Tucked within easy reach of Highgate, it spills across the hilltop in a patchwork of lawns, ponds and secret-feeling gardens.
Lauderdale House anchors one end with exhibitions and a sun-drenched café. We stretched out on the grass with takeaway coffees, letting the morning warm slowly around us. It’s the sort of park that soaks into your bones if you let it.
Bruce Castle Museum
During a visit to Archway, we planned a stop at Bruce Castle Museum—a sturdy Tudor manor full of unexpected histories.
If you like your history with a side of quirks, this is your place. Open Wednesday to Sunday afternoons (1–5 PM), it’s the sort of museum that still smells faintly of old paper and varnish. Tip: It tends to be quietest right after opening—we had whole exhibits to ourselves for a while, perfect if you like browsing without crowds.
We found ourselves drifting from room to room, following dusty corridors and half-forgotten stories.
The Dare Skywalk
The first step out onto the Dare Skywalk is the hardest. Clipped into a harness, you inch along the top of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the wind tugging at your jacket and London sprawling out below.
Open daily, with later climbs at weekends, it’s a strange kind of sightseeing—exhilarating, slightly ridiculous and unforgettable. Tip: Book in advance—weekend slots in particular sell out faster than you’d expect, especially for sunset climbs.
Alexandra Park
Coming in from Wood Green or Finsbury Park, Alexandra Park opens up like a secret too big to hide. Rose gardens fade into woodlands; a boating lake hums with geese and kids waving bread.
We parked by Alexandra Palace and simply wandered, pockets full of leaves and phone cameras full of accidental beauty. There’s always another corner to explore here—and no real need for a map.
Food, Stays And Slower Moments
Even when the day runs away from you, Crouch End is the kind of place where it’s easy to slow things back down. We ended ours with flat whites at Coffee Circus, watching the light fade over Middle Lane. Later, The Maynard Arms lured us in with the smell of Sunday roast drifting out to the pavement. If you’re staying overnight, Crouch End Boutique Hotel offers a simple, homely base—the kind where you can leave your car parked and wander out without a plan. Which, in Crouch End, always seems to work best.
