Unlimited Rental Mileage
In many car hire services, there is often a mileage cap that restricts how far you can go. Yet, at SDVH, we have a different perspective. We think that when you book a car, you should have the liberty to travel without any restrictions. That’s why, we offer unlimited mileage on all our vehicles, save for those used for courier services.
Whether you are aiming for a short journey around Bloomsbury or you’re setting out on a longer journey, with our unlimited mileage policy, you pay a flat rental rate, no matter the distance covered. This approach can be particularly beneficial for long-distance trips. When making your reservation, simply check with one of our helpful customer service representatives to make sure the car you have chosen comes with the advantage of unlimited mileage.

European Cover Option
Every so often, a car journey across Europe is more enticing than taking to the skies or taking a train. With us, you can hire a car and travel in comfort across various European nations, like France, Spain, Germany, Ireland, Belgium, Portugal and other EU countries. We also offer our unlimited mileage to car rentals for prolonged EU ventures.
When booking, let our agent if you’re planning to travel outside the UK, as this incurs an additional fee. Also notify our reservation team in advance if your journey extends beyond the EU.
One Way Vehicle Rental
Not all travels conclude where they started. Occasionally, you could need to move from point A to B without the intention of making a return just to return the rented car. SDVH’s one-way car hire facilitates this. Book a car in one part of the UK and return it at your final destination.
This option makes travel more streamlined by removing extra rental periods. Instead of driving the car all the way back to the first rental location, conserve funds by dropping it off at a closer depot or allowing our team to collect it at your concluding point. Do remember, our one-way car rental service, exclusively accessible on the UK mainland, carries a supplementary charge. Be sure to specify your end location and pickup date at the time of booking.
Insurance Is Included
No matter how the most prudent individual, sudden accidents can take place, leading to damage to the rental car or harm to riders. Being prepared for such circumstances is crucial. All car hired from SDVH features complete insurance, covering minor car damages and all passengers inside.
This insurance is part of the rental fee, eliminating hidden charges. Furthermore, we have a Collision Damage Waiver for extra protection, minimising your liability for serious vehicle damage. Our agents will explain the full rental fee, covering insurance selections, during your booking.
Company Own Insurance - 10%
We understand that additional rental car insurance isn’t essential for all individuals. In case your work policy previously covers you, there is no need for us to give further protection and it’s not right to charge all the same.
Thus, should you own insurance, we give a 10% discount on each car rental, making SDVH’s rentals more economical and still providing unlimited mileage. Kindly notify our staff about your existing insurance as you scheduling a car hire to use this discount.
Wide Range Available
Our extensive vehicle fleet includes people carriers and minibuses for larger groups, versatile trucks for a range of tasks, and both cargo and passenger vans available in Bloomsbury. Using our wide UK supplier network, SDVH provides excellent car hire deals. Considering a low-cost adventure? Our economy cars are exactly what you need! What To Do In Bloomsbury
Bloomsbury occupies a quiet yet central stretch of London, set between Tottenham Court Road and Holborn. It houses around 11,000 residents. It’s easily reached via the A501 and A4200, though drivers should expect a slower crawl midweek—particularly around Russell Square. The layout encourages exploring on foot once parked, so comfortable shoes are a smart call.
Expect a mild climate with crisp spring mornings and occasional summer heat. Late spring through early summer is ideal—fewer crowds, more daylight and everything in bloom. With its leafy squares, literary roots and world-class institutions, Bloomsbury draws those in search of substance without the noise of Soho.
Attractions In Bloomsbury
While it’s best known for the British Museum and academic history, Bloomsbury’s charm builds gradually—through garden cafés, quietly bold galleries and the occasional festival tucked into a square or hall. You don’t need a plan to enjoy the area. Just time.
The British Museum
Inside its enormous halls, we wandered past centuries of human history. The Rosetta Stone drew a crowd but we lingered longer in quieter corners—the Enlightenment Gallery, the Asian collections, the shadows of Assyrian statues.
The museum has over 159,000 reviews for good reason. It’s a place where you can spend hours or just a short wander and still come away with something meaningful. Open daily from 10am to 5pm, with later hours on Fridays.
Sir John Soane’s Museum
Off Lincoln’s Inn Fields, this museum is a complete surprise. You step inside what feels like a home, only to find layers of design, sculpture and clever architectural tricks. Mirrors, sliding panels, hidden skylights—it’s theatrical without losing its personal feel.
Tucked within easy reach of Aldwych, it sees a steady stream of curious day-trippers. We spent longer here than expected. It’s open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm.
London Transport Museum
Just beyond Bloomsbury’s edge in Covent Garden, this museum is immersive in the best way. We explored old Tube maps, climbed aboard early double-deckers and browsed advertising posters from the past century. Despite its size, it’s densely packed—an experience that’s both playful and oddly reflective. Open daily from 10am to 6pm.
Charles Dickens Museum
This attraction brings you closer to the man than any biography could. We stepped through Dickens’ former home on Doughty Street, with its creaking floors and narrow corridors. His study still feels lived-in. Downstairs, the café had homemade soup and strong coffee, perfect for a late morning break. It’s open Tuesday through Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
The Cartoon Museum
Tucked within easy reach of Primrose Hill, this museum made us laugh, pause and double back to earlier sketches. Small but expressive, it highlights political satire, comic strips and children’s favourites in equal measure. You don’t need to be a cartoon enthusiast to enjoy it. Tuesday to Saturday opening, from 10:30am to 5:30pm, with shorter hours on Sundays.
Grant Museum Of Zoology
On University Street, this hidden gem feels almost untouched by modern curation. We peered into dusty cases filled with preserved creatures—some fascinating, others a bit grotesque. There’s no gloss here, just raw academic curiosity. It’s open Tuesday to Friday from 1pm to 5pm and Saturday from 11am.
The Butterfly Trail At Outernet
Approaching from Euston, we noticed a crowd just off Centre Point and decided to take a look. Inside, we found vibrant digital displays—butterflies dancing across walls, set to an ambient soundscape. It was surprisingly immersive for such a short visit.
Leicester Square
Many visitors from Camden find this to be a good first stop when heading into central London for the evening. We passed through as the lights came up, street performers gathered and the energy picked up. Crowded, yes but a spectacle worth passing through at least once.
St. Paul’s Cathedral
A short drive east led us to St. Paul’s. We arrived mid-morning and joined a small group for a choral service.
The acoustics under the dome were breathtaking. Even without the service, it’s a space that asks you to slow down. Open from 8:30am to 4:30pm, extended to 6pm on Sundays.
Bloomsbury Square Garden
This spot is well known to regulars from Central London looking for a lunch-hour escape. We grabbed coffees from Sicilian Avenue and sat under a canopy of plane trees, surrounded by office workers and dog walkers. The garden closes at 8pm.
Monopoly Lifesized
Before heading back to London proper, we spent our final hour at this oversized board game experience just off Tottenham Court Road. Our team navigated themed rooms, solved puzzles and rolled our way through a surprisingly clever live-action version of Monopoly. Open Tuesday to Friday from 12pm to 11pm and earlier on weekends.
Where To Pause In Bloomsbury
We found a cosy seat and a warm scone at Gail’s Bakery on Marchmont Street, just a block from the museum crowds. For something heartier, The Lamb on Lamb’s Conduit Street gave us a quiet corner and a proper pie. Accommodation-wise, The Morton Hotel offers literary-themed rooms with charm, while The Royal National Hotel nearby keeps things simple and budget-friendly.
It’s a go-to for residents of Mornington Crescent looking for an easy cultural detour—one that feels tucked away despite sitting at the heart of the city.
